why does my lincoln stay up when air switch is off but will drop when air switch is on?

My 94 lincoln continental air suspension will drive and hold for awhile when I drive with the air swith turned off. If i turn the switch on, the front passenger side will drop to the tire rapidly. If it is a sensor or something on just that side, will it be a cheaper fix than if it was an leaky airbag and does the height sensor seem like the problem? Any suggestions???

yes i would say it was the sensor yes they are a lot cheaper than the air bags it should look like a little lever hooked to the suspension with wires coming out you might chk to see if the linkage is still connected sometimes they get knocked off with road debris
btw are you sure switching it off when it comes up it sounds kind of odd that it would come up in the off position because the pump will not run when it is off
if so i would check the air bag for a hole sometimes it is hard to hear them leak
the best fix for them is to get the new replacement struts and springs and replace the air suspension altogether
