More Great Information on Buoyancy Belt:

Choosing the Essential Equipment for Scuba Diving   by Joaquin Costa

If you have finally decided to test your nerves and feel the rush of adrenaline by adopting scuba diving as a hobby, then you are up for an adventurous ride. In order to start off you need to buy the right equipment. But scuba diving is a hobby that can tell on your pocket; therefore, it is very essential that you identify and purchase the essential equipment for scuba diving.

As you will be spending some time under water, so oxygen tank and mask are the two items that are most essential. The mouth piece and tubes are known as regulators as they stabilize the supply of oxygen from the oxygen tank. While choosing mask, it is worth checking that it is comfortable enough for you to wear, but you must make sure that it is tight enough to stop water from finding its way in.

Buoyancy Control Device or BCD is a device that ensures that you swim at the right level. Many scuba divers also wear a weight belt containing removable weights so as to stay under water. The next essential item for a scuba diver is the wet suit. While you may think of scuba diving as a harmless hobby, there are many dangerous creatures living under water, and a wet suit gives you the necessary protection against coral reefs and jelly fish.

There are mainly two types of wet suits being used by scuba divers around the world: the long suit and the short suit. If you are going to be diving in colder waters, then the longer suit will be more suitable as it covers the whole body and also has a hood for covering the head. Booties can also be worn to keep the cold water away from your feet. On the other hand, shorter suits are used by divers diving in warmer climate. Short suits are both with and without sleeves. Fins are also an important part of a diver's gear and are considered part of the clothing.

For a worst case scenario you must also be equipped with a First Aid kit, an oxygen tank repair kit, a knife, a sheath, a flag and a float. In order to double the enjoyment, you can also bring an underwater camera to record all your exploits under the surface of water. Apart from stuff relating to scuba diving, you can also keep accessories like towels, sun screen and body oil which can be used when you decide to spend some time under the sun.
