How much to replace a gas furnance with a total electric heatpump?
I am wanting to replace my 3 ton central heat and air gas furnace system with a total electric heatpump system. The duct work is in good working order. What would be an average cost to replace these 2 peices, with installation? Also, what brands do you recommend. I have been hearing and reem, amana, goodman, carrier, train, ext.
I want the unit to have the newer puron, and be at least 13 seer, preferebly higher. The house is 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, approx 2000 square feet.
Also, I am in North West, Ga if that makes a difference.
gas furnace was in a fire, so we don't know if it works or not. Also, gas here costs a minimus of $40-$70 a month just to have on, even if you use no gas. I am not keeping the gas furnance. I have a gas log fireplace in the living room for backup heat.
