Heating element?
I need help! I have melted a plastic plate on the 6" burner element on my electric stove, is there anything that might removed the hardened plastic? thats safe to use on it? the website i'm listing is a picture of the part i've melted plastic on to. I dont want to have to pay $60 to replace it.

$60 are you kidding me? Is that a price you saw on-line? Check in your local area, maybe you can find a lower price.
Are you able to remove the burner? I am not sure what you can use without hurting the burner. If you can take the burner off and take it outside maybe you can try one of the thick paint removers to soften the plastic. You might even try oven cleaner on the plastic to try and soften it.
