Blood Test for Cars
A blood test is a way to determine the qualities in one’s blood. Healthy blood keeps the body going. It is the same with oil and machines. Instead of a blood test, it is oil analysis for machines.
Oil analysis is the process of measuring the properties and consistency of engine oil or a lubricant to see if it is efficient and safe to work with. Oil sampling is the process of collecting the oil and minimizing “turbulence” for efficient analysis. Turbulence pertains to places where the oil is not flowing in a straight path and rolls in the pipe instead. Oil from places with high turbulence retains most of its properties, and it is where the most substantial analysis comes from.
There are a number of properties measured in an oil lubricant. These are analyses of oil properties, contaminants, or wear debris from machinery. These are usually done during routine preventive maintenance to gather information on the lubricant’s condition. Results also provide information on the machine’s condition, making repairs easier, if not unavoidable.
The engine produces strong acids as residue from the combustion’s by-products; engine oils are measured by their acid resistance, the ability to neutralize acids. Engine oils are formulated with bases, substances that neutralize acids; this prevents the engine from acid corrosion. Oils with higher acid resistance protect the engine from damage from acids. Any
oil analysis company
considers the oil’s viscosity, the ability to resist flow. Engine oil, especially multi-grade oil, should be fluid and rapid even when the engine is cold. It should also be thick enough to protect the engine even when it is hot. Multi-grade oils are identified with the letter W between the numbers, measuring their viscosity at low temperatures, like 5W-20.
The gelation index in oil is its tendency to form into a gelatin substance when the temperature drops below freezing point. Any

points out that this can be problematic when the engine cannot start easily because of the gel. Using oil with lower gelation index is recommended.
