More Great Information on Philadelphia Eagles:
Two Fans Found Guilty for Burning Cardinals Cheers into Mcnabb's Lawn! by Robert Melkonyan
Donovan McNabb Philadelphia Eaglesâ quarterback was forced recently to play defensively at his off season home game in Chandler. Itâs said that two Arizona Cardinal fans were seen hanging their team's flag on a tree and set ablaze âGo Cards," "Go Kurt," and "I hate AZ" just in front of Donovan McNabb's yard using diesel fuel, Chandlerâs police Department Sergeant, Joe Favazzo confirmed on Tuesday.
Chandlers police Department has said that the fans hung the flag Thursday; however McNabb laughed it off and even didnât pull it down but left it hanging.
Itâs said that the fans returned later on Saturday and this time left a cardboard box on the driveway containing the "Go Cards" words scripted on one side and on the other side the word "Beat Philly". This didnât bother Donovan McNabb either for he laughed them off too. Once he discovered them at about midnight, Sergeant Favazzo said.
But it dawned to McNabb that the fans were out to do a fishy thing when he went outside Saturday morning, and smelled diesel fuel and discovered that someone had set ablaze Cardinals cheers and then threw them into his lawn; causing an estimated $2,000 in damages.
The police department said police officers found an addressed label on the box left, which lead them to Chandlerâs resident Rex Perkins, 37, who later pleaded guilty to the pranks.
This was done in partnership with his co-worker, Ryan Hanlon, 28, who also admitted of being part of the pranks.
Perkins and Hanlonâs fingerprints were taken, photographed and charged with engaging in misdemeanor criminal damages. Favazzo said the decision to get the diesel fuel and start damaging the yard, was far and beyond. They surely crossed the line, he added.
This came up in the defeat of the Eagles by the Cardinals on Sunday during the NFC championship game and made them to advance to the Feb. 1 Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla.
The NFL teams have further been informed to wind up designate franchise and transition players during a 15-day period starting on Feb. 5 lasting till 4 p.m on Feb. 19. The amount of salary offered to the player by his previous club determines the type of franchise or transition player is. Clubs can only designate one franchise player and one transition player in any given year.
There exist two types of franchise players, namely "the exclusive" and "non-exclusive." Exclusive franchise player should only be offered a one-year contract for a salary no less than the average of the first five salaries scales the player's position is mandated. After the restricted free agent period is over, a 20 percent increase of his 2008 salary should be reviewed. The exclusive negotiating rights remains with the club, other clubs have no right to negotiate with exclusive franchise player.
While a non-exclusive franchise player should be offered a one-year contract for a salary not less than the average of the top five salaries scales at his position in the 2008 season. The exclusive negotiating rights are not bestowed upon the offering club, and the player is free to negotiate with other clubs.
