What position should the Multi Port valve be in during muriatic acid cleaning for my pool?
We moved in to a new house several weeks ago and we are so clueless when it comes to Pool Maintenance.
How long should I let the pump run for?
Ideally, it should not matter, since the acidic water should not even enter the plumbing. Ideally, you should put a plug in or otherwise block the main drain to prevent the acidic water from entering it. You should use a Submersible Pump in the deep end of the pool to remove the rinse water, after sprinkling some sodium bicarb (baking soda, alkalinity up) around the area of the submersible pump to neutralize the acidic water. (Which is not really specified in the link below.)
