What type of air intake system/kit should I get?

I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt LT 2.2L L4. I want to increase horsepower and increase the sound of my engine/car. What air intake should i get? I want to stay under $300 but also want to help my engine with better air flow.
how can i increase sound, other than spending 1000 to replace exhaust or doing something illegal

The right way to do it would be to put an injen cold air intake. In my opinion they are the best for your money. They do a lot of testing to gain the maximum horsepower and sound for your engine. You can get one on ebay for $255.00 with free shipping. It looks way better than just a filter sticking out.
