A Hot Tub is an Outdoor Pool that usually contains warmed up water usually used for hydrotherapy. Some people call it Spa or Jacuzzi but the two terms refer to a similar structure, which is commonly found indoors. A tub can either be big or small, and it can be made of wood or plastic. Additionally, it has to have an electric of natural gas hot tub heater. This element is responsible for heating the water. When you soak your body inside the pool, the warm water will relax and comfort it.
There are other systems that use solar and wood fired heating elements. Have you ever seen natural Hot Springs? The manmade hot spas ape their appearance and natural functioning. The task can be quite boring or difficult for a person who is not so good at solving technical problems.
Even so, you do not have to troubleshoot and repair the item. However, you have to discover that there is a problem in the first place. This is as easy as learning to read or observe the signs. There are a few symptoms that can indicate a serious issue with the heater. If a heating coil (works in the same way a Light Bulb filament does) burns out, causing an open circuit, the system will not generate any heat.
Assuming that all other parts, including the high limit switch, thermostat, main source of current or terminal are okay, a no heat situation can only be caused by a faulty coil. Sometimes the whole element can stop working and according to technical experts, this could only happen if there has been a dry fire hazard. Simply put, a dry fire situation could occur because the hot tub heater is turned on and either the Water Level is very low or there is none at all.
In this case, a coil does not melt alone, as the damage extends even to the outer cover too. Sometimes even the remedies set to control a serious electrical damage can fail as well. If there is a reduced heat situation, chances are high that even the rate of water flow is down. The best thing is to check if the filter is blocked or if the spa pump parts have a problem.
Water impurities such as calcium could accumulate and reduce its flow hence the reduced heat. There is nothing you can do to solve electrical hitches without a high quality meter. In addition, anybody would advice you to disconnect any power lines and the hot tub heater terminals to avoid shocks while testing. What is more, you have to get ready to perform many tests when installing the new parts.

diagnosing hot tub power fault?
I have a 4 Person Hot tub that tripped the circuit breaker apparently when not in active use and immediately trips when resetting. It is a 30A connection running from GFCI breaker to quick disconnect to hot tub. It had been running for about 2 years (brand new) with no problem. If unplugged at quick disc. then the gfci holds. I tried unplugging the pump and tub light and still trips. There is mild corrosion around one of the heater terminals, which I removed the connection, cleaned and reattached and tightened both. If the heater has failed, would it trip the breaker? I here a click from the tub Circuit Board as soon as I turn on the gfci breaker. Any ideas? Thanks.
I had a hot tub do the same thing after 9 months and it was the Heating Element.
