Blue jays & White Sox make international changes
The Blue Jays and The White Sox have hired new personnel to lead their international efforts. The White Sox have hired Marco Paddy as a special assitant to the general manager in charge of internationl operations he had been Toronto's Director of Latin American Operations for the last five years., while the Blue Jays signed Shotstopper Adeiny Hechavarria from Cuba, Venezuelan catcher Carlos Perez, Venezuelan righthander Henderson Alvarez and Adonys Cardona among others.

The Blue Jays were one of the most aggressive teams on the international amateur market this year, signing Mexican Righthander Roberto Osuna, Venezuelan outfielders Wuilmer Becerra and Jesus Gonzalez, Dominican Shortstop Dawel Lugo and Venezuelan righthanders Manuel Cordoba and Jesus Tinoco.
Three former White Sox officials-former director of player personnel David Wilder and international scouts Victor Mateo and Jorge Oquendo Rivera were fired in 2008 and have since each pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud. In 2010 the government alleged that the three received approximately $400.000 in kickbacks from around 23 players from 2004-2008.
On the other hand The White Sox hired Jerry Krause to run their international scouting in April 2010, but Jerry left the organization a year later to take over as a special assitant in Arizona making the White Sox have been among the lowest spenders and least productive teams in the international amateur market in recent years.
Jerry Krause is a former professional basketball scout and general manager for, among other franchises, the Baltimore Bullets and, most notably, the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. He is a two-time recipient of the NBA's Executive of the Year award. Krause was born in 1939 and grew up in Chicago. He played high school baseball as a catcher at Taft High School in Chicago and attended Bradley University.

The Toronto Blue Jays replaced Paddy with Ismael Cruz, who had been with the Mets as their supervisor of the Latin American operations and now he'll be Blue Jays special assistant to the GM in charge of Latin America operations. During Ismael's time with New York Mets, the team included signings included Jenrry Mejia, Ruben Tejaad, Jeurys Familia, Wilmer Flores, Cesar Puello, Jordany Valdespin and Juan Urbina.
The Met's former director of international operations, Rafael Perez, left the organization last month to become Major League Baseball's new director of the Dominican Operations.
