Winterize a Volvo 5.0L?
I have a Volvo 5.0L fuel injected engine and I purchased the kit to winterize the engine. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/products/12478-engine-winterizing-kit.html
I did everything that that instructions told me to do by running antifreeze through the system. Now I am wondering if I need to pull all the plugs out. I am finding mixed answers online. My manual does not tell me where to locate the plugs. By running antifreeze through the system does this protect my engine through the Georgia winter?

Every year about this time we regulars on Boating Answers get lots of Winterizing questions. The problem arises when we give good answers, but incomplete ones. Resulting in "mixed" answers online.
Winterization is more of a storage procedure than a anti-freeze one, even-though that is an important part of the things you should do. You should have "fogged your engine" and added fuel stabilizers and possibly other additives to the fuel system, before you ran the antifreeze into the system. Other things like changing oil, replacing fuel filters, spraying the entire engine with protectants, greasing all fittings, sealing the air intake........servicing the drive, Water System, heads......etc.
You should have run a injector cleaner and protectant oil through the engine before you shut it down. Each type EFI engine is a little different. I use "outboard oil" mixed with (stabilized) fresh fuel for this purpose.
I always drain the engine before I fill it with non-toxic antifreeze. That insures that silt or mud isn't blocking off some water that could freeze (even in GA or FL). The west marine flush kit is handy, but can easily be used incorrectly.
I've also found Youtube.com to be useful when winterizing marine engines. There are several good "factory" training videos on youtube. Particularly for Mercruiser, and your engine is similar.

You should get a manual specific to your engine and make your own list of things to do, and double checking them as you do this. Forgetting just one item can cost a lot to repair in the spring.
I recall an injector engine video but I don't see it right now. I have 5.7L EFI computer controlled engines. I take an outboard tank and mix TCW3 outboard oil with the fuel, and add Stabilizer. I then connect to the engine at the fuel filter in from the tanks. I then run the engine on this mix, until I've finished my winterization. I also stabilize the fuel in the tank. Some people use injector cleaner before this step.
I also run synthetic engine oil, 20W50, which I don't replace every year. I do however change the filter, and top up.
Everyone has little things they do, that work.
One change I've made after 30+years is I run as much fuel out of the tanks as possible. My reasoning is that with the E-10 fuel, prone to water absorption, phase separation and already has 10% alcohol in it, the thing that makes dry gas work, I had rather have fresh fuel and deal with the small amount of condensation in the spring. A few years ago someone did a test on just how much condensation you could get, and surprisingly it was very little. In fact your are more likely to get water from the pump than your boat tank.
i've been using STA-Bil (ethanol treatment) for several years. I also use OMC fogging oil, and after spraying in the air intake while the engine is running, about 1/2 can, then I use balance to spray the engine exterior. I use the green marine grease where needed.
